Sad News from Waynesboro, Virginia...The passing of Mr. George Wells

Earlier this week I had the opportunity to sit down with Rob Sisk and Jim Sacco of the News Virginian about the family that is the Waynesboro Generals. It is a long list filled with names and faces that make up both the Generals and the Waynesboro community.

A few hours ago I sat down at my computer with the intention of writing something about one of the High School sports teams when I stumbled across an e-mail from Brian Lundstrom. Brian is a huge part of both the groups mentioned above and was contacting me to inform me of a great loss that our family had suffered earlier in the week.

Mr. George Wells worked in the Concession Stand at the Generals games with his brother Russell as well as Nat. Besides all of the support George showed for his beloved community, he came down when the Generals were playing at home to help keep the fans happy. The group had an ability to make you feel right at home, even when you were just getting to know them.

I can tell you that George will be missed throughout the Waynesboro community but I would like to use the words that Brian shared with me earlier today.

"George was a wonderful human being, and will be missed by any and all who know him."

Please join me in praying for Russell and the remainder of George's family in the coming days.
