Saturday Night : Strasburg Boys hosting Stonewall Jackson

Let's start out by showing the Junior Varsity teams some love by highlighting the contest played prior to the Varsity contest. Strasburg defeated the visiting Generals by a final score of 45-20 with sophomore Zach Cover leading the way with 14 points. Cover was joined in double figures by 8TH grader Tyler Hott (10 points) and 12 different Rams scored for the home team. Dylan Shirley and Carlos Saavedra both scored 7 points to lead the attack for Coach Andrew Johns. Stonewall... 4-4- 8- 4 (20) Strasburg .. 8-13-16-8 (45) ____________________________________________

Pictures include pre -game, 1ST half & 2ND half and of course the Ram. ___________________________________ Friday night at 250 Ram Drive was one for the ages as two of Shenandoah County's finest were going toe to toe while leading their teams in the back half of a Home and Home between Stonewall Jackson & Strasburg . ___________________________________ Both coaches, Strasburg's Joel Morgan and the Generals Jeff Burner were incredibly animated during the Rams 41-34 victory. The defensive intensity was as high as I have seen during the 2008-2009 season and that went for both squads. Junior Jenna Smoot led the home team with 15 points and 13 rebounds but the game was in doubt until Strasburg connected on four late free throws to complete the two game sweep. ___________________________________ Saturday night it was the boys turn to take the floor under the watchful eye of the Ram mounted high on the Gym wall. The Stout family at half court after a full night of basketball. Three of the four games played Tuesday night involved a member of the Stout family.
