The Cannon has been a part of Spotswood for 20 years now.

The peak of the Masaanutten Mountain Range is a pretty cool back drop for the football field.

Week 3 of covering the Waynesboro Little Giants took Chris Graham and myself to the campus of Spotswood High School. Josh was covering the game for the News Virginian and he joined us on both the pre-game show and our half time show.

We witnessed the first lead of the season for the Little Giants when the team scored a touchdown late in the first quarter to take a 7-6 advantage. While the lead didn't hold up it was still a positive note on the night.

Waynesboro fell to 0-3 on the season and will return to action Friday night when they travel to Staunton for a Southern Valley District contest with R.E Lee at Gypsy Hill Park.

Central High School - Coach Jerry Walters & The Falcons Family Tree- Pics 1ST

After spending a couple of hours with Mr. John Galle of the Shenandoah Valley Herald in Woodstock I made the two mile drive over to Central High School. The Lady Falcons were playing Broadway and one thing you can always count on at Central is the chance to visit with some folks that will make you feel right at home. Tonight was no different, except the opportunity to trade stories with none other than Valley Coaching Legend Jerry Walters. On our site Jerry is also known as Jeff''s Dad but for tonight we will call him Coach. Coach spent 34 years working the sidelines at Central until his retirement following the 2004-2005 campaign. While I have known Coach for a few years, it wasn't until Thursday night that I was able to spend what I would call one on one plus time.
