Funny thing happened on the road to Charlotte Court House (Region B Volleyball)

After getting all prepared for a Thursday afternoon trip down and over to Charlotte Court House for the Semi-Final match between visiting Strasburg and host Randolph-Henry, I discovered there had been a change in plans.

Altavista would prove to be not only the sole District Runner-Up to win a game but the Colonels actually upset the James River District Champions (R-H). Luray played Strasburg tough, Goochland gave its best at Nelson County and Rapp served at game point at Wilson (Game 2) but all three matches ended at 3-0.

Altavista now returns to the point of Region B play where they were elimanated last year. Playing on the road at Rapp, the Lady Colonels jumped out to an early lead but could not keep the Lady Panthers from moving on. This time they will try it again without the long bus ride before the match when they host Strasburg at 7:00 P.M. on Thursday.

The second semi-final match will take place at Wilson Memorial on Thursday. The Lady Green Hornets will host the Govenors of Nelson County in a contest between two schools located just 40 miles apart. The winner of this match will host the Region B Championship as well as earn a ticket to the State Tournament.
