Friday night at 250 Ram Drive was one for the ages as two of Shenandoah County's finest were going toe to toe while leading their teams in the back half of a Home and Home between Stonewall Jackson & Strasburg.

Both coaches, Strasburg's Joel Morgan and the Generals Jeff Burner were incredibly animated during the Rams 41-34 victory. The defensive intensity was as high as I have seen during the 2008-2009 season and that went for both squads. Junior Jenna Smoot led the home team with 15 points and 13 rebounds but the game was in doubt until Strasburg connected on four late free throws to complete the two game sweep.

Saturday night it was the boys turn to take the floor under the watchful eye of the Ram mounted high on the Gym wall. The girls game ended Friday night but the conversation between Burner and Morgan picked right back up on Saturday night in the corner of the gym.

Now that the two contests between the County rivals have been played, the two long time Coaches can go back to just talking High School Basketball. From just before the opening tip until the beginning of the fourth quarter the pair traded stories and game plans for their upcoming District schedules.
