How does one end up owning the Waynesboro Generals. The A to Z version : From Mr. Stanley to Mrs. Teresa Wease and 100 stops in between!

Monday is a tough day here at Crystal Clear Delivery. Each Monday we are required to visit 46 separate stores and collect for the Washington Post. Tough enough before you add in two tweaks- (1) It comes after delivering papers all night and (2) the stores are spread out over a territory that includes the towns of Luray, Stanley, Shenandoah, New Market, Mount Jackson, Edinburg, Bayse and a few towns in between.

So you sit down after a 16 hour shift and then type all of the numbers in to the computer. By the end you can no longer see straight and the next day starts six hours later. You have this story to tell that will include a couple thousand words and you catch yourself and say maybe it should wait one more day. Just about to walk away from the computer and there is a note in the inbox from Teresa Wease saying she noticed the headline and was wondering where the story was.

Anybody else and I don't think twice but you see, Teresa is one of the reasons I ended up in this situation! For those of you that haven't had the pleasure of meeting this special Lady I can only hope you get to this summer. Mrs. Turks as a like to call her, is really a special special person and she shares a number of traits with me. Teresa will do anything she can for most anyone she knows and some that she doesn't. Not an ounce of "What's in it for me" in Mrs. Wease.

Last year was a special year with our Around The Valley in 60 Days Adventure and one of the things that made it so special was Teresa and her band of Die hard Turks backers. Always a smile on her face and always a kind word spoken anytime our paths crossed. From the road trip Birthday Party up in Haymarket to the celebration with all of the Turks back at Memorial Field near the season end...

Then there was the tearing down of her ball park after the season. Something led me over to H'Burg each and everyday during this emotional time. Not because I had any emotional ties to the ball yard because I knew that Teresa was losing a part of her life. A part of her that not many folks realized the importance of. Why ride to and from Luray to Harrisonburg each day when gas was pushing $4.00 a gallon? Simple, that is what friends do when they thing they can help!

This is also why if you make the trip down to Waynesboro on July 3RD for the Generals- Turks game you can join me/us in celebrating Teresa Wease night at Kate Collins Field. We are going to set aside the only night that the Turks make it down to W'Boro to honor the efforts of this amazing person.

Now you know the first story of how Team Waynesboro came to be born and I promise there will be many more!
