Today we are Live with the West Virginia Tech Golden Bears 🐻 Baseball ⚾️ team down in Kingsport, TN. Today is the second and final day of Milligan University's fourth Annual "Clash of Conferences" weekend. The games are split between the Appalachian League park in Johnson City and the High School facilities at Dobbs Bennett in Kingsport.
Play gets underway at 2pm with the plan for the day to get 2 7 inning contests in.
Milligan went 2-0 on Saturday while the Golden Bears 🐻 split a pair of one run games
Francisco Calderon homered in his first at bat of the season in the opener and the Golden Bears 🐻 pitching staff combined on a shutout of Indiana - South Bend, 1-0.

Golden Bears go down in order in the top of the first.
Milligan plates two runs in the home half on Double, RBI Groundwater and s solo Home Run to center field.
Top of the second is in the books without the Golden Bears plating a run but Noah Lukus sent a ball to the warning track in right centerfield.
Tyler Wilkinson faces the minimum in the bottom of the second after the third out was recorded on an interference call on a steal attempt.
The dimensions of the park are 318 down the left field line, 381 to straight away center field and 297 down the right field line.
Golden Bears get their first base runner in the top of the third on a walk but are unable to advance the runner. Score remains 2-0, Milligan
Milligan plates two more runs in the bottom of the third on three hits, one hit batter and one error. Wilkinson did a nice job in limiting the Buffaloes to just two runs in the frame.
Logan Stump picked up the Golden Bears 🐻 first hit and one batter later Francisco Calderon homered to right center. Halfway through the 7-inning opener and our score is now 4-2!
Milligan plates five runs in the bottom of the fourth inning off of Wilkinson and reliever Zach Reid.The Buffaloes took advantage of two errors on their way to a big inning. One positive thing about inning was that the Sun finally broke through the clouds ☁️
Scorers Update - one of the two errors in the bottom of the fourth has been changed to a hit
Golden Bears collect a pair of hits in the top of the fith as Gator Warden singled and Jordan Thurmond doubled but both runners were stranded.
Bradie Vance pitches a scoreless bottom of the fifth inning and we head to the Top of the Sixth at 3:40pm. WVU-T strands a runner in the top of the sixth that reached on the Buffaloes first error. Mid 6th, 9-2 Milligan.
Vance back to the mound for a second inning and pitches around a two out walk, posting another Zero on the board.
Golden Bears pick up a walk in the Top of the 7th but come up short, dropping a 9-2 decision to the Buffaloes.
Staunton made the trip work and defeated the Covington Lumberjacks 7-3 and the winner in the Front Royal vs. Winchester contest was the Royals 5-3. Only hours away from another great slate of VBL action!
