Sunday Afternoon - Game #2

First Pitch - 4:41, Game Time Temp 51° Golden Bears 🐻 plate a run in the top of the first as four runners reached base - two walks and two singles. Broody Boyce scored after his walk and Chase Herndon picked up the RBI single. Logan Stump also singled in the inning.
Ben Palomo takes to the mound with a 1-0 advantage, the Golden Bears first lead of the day. Palomo pitches around two walks and its 1-0 after 1.Tech strands a runner 🏃‍♂️ after a walk in the top of the second. Mid 2, Tech 1-0 Bottom of the second ends with Gator Warden throwing out a would be base stealer at second base. To the top of the 3rd - Tech 1, Milliga 0. In the Bottom of the third inning Braden Spanish chit his second 3-Run Homer of the day. After 3rd its the Buffaloes 3, Golden Bears 1. In the top of the fourth inning WVU-T had runners on the corners after a walk and a HBP. Boyce hit a rope that the short stop grabbed ankle high to squash the rally. The Sun has dropped behind the Hills and the lights are now on = temperature 🌡 dropping. Need to add that in the Top of the 3rd Noah Lukus collected our third base hit and reached second base but was stranded there. Bottom of the 4th was Palomo's best so far as he retired the Buffs 3 up. 3 down.
Logan Stump leading off the Top of the Fifth with Calderon hitting behind him. Calderon laces a loud single to right centerfield and Lukus moves him to second but we cannot get him in. Bottom 5th - Declan Shaw relieves Palomo after four innings of work that only included two Buffaloes hits. Shaw makes lightning 🌩 fast work of the bottom of the inning without the ball leaving the infield. Top 6th - Gator leading off lines a shot down the first base line that unfortunately caught the umpires leg 🦵 which turned a leadoff double down the line into a single. The inning ended without a runner reaching second base. Bottom 6th - Caleb Berry followed a leadoff bloop double with a 2-run Home Run to left and its now 5-1 with all five runs scoring on home runs.J.W. Taylor now enters the game in relief of Shaw. The Golden Bears outfield is having some trouble following the ball in the lights and its now 9-1 with just one out.The bottom of the sixth inning is finally in the books but not before Berry hit his second 3-Run Homer of the inning. 12-1 now but Skipper Lawrence Nesselrodt doesn't have an ounce of quit in him so let's go to the top of the 7th in search of an 11 run rally. The 12 runs have been scored on just seven base hits. Golden Bears go down quietly in the top of the 7th and at 6:37pm (1:56 time of game) the nightcap ends, 12-1. Don't let the score of Game 2 deceive you as the Golden Bears were in this one until the lights were turned On them.
