The majority of headlines in High School Sports this time of year goes to the Friday Night Lights on the grid iron. My life is no different as tomorrow night we will be over in Staunton calling the Harrisonburg vs. R.E. Lee showdown. But in search of having balance in the world of sports here at ATV-60 I go out in search of a High School Volleyball match.
There is a handful to choose from tonight that involve schools from the area. The Luray Bulldogs travel over to Madison for a non-district tilt with Madison County. Luray (7-1) is playing for the 1ST time in a week and will also have a short break after tonight.
Page County is fresh off a pair of victories and will travel up to Strasburg for a second chance against the Rams. One of the Panthers recent wins came against Rappahannock County and it would appear that Alan Knight's team is gathering steam as they head toward the Shenandoah District part of their schedule.
Coach Cathy Brill will be taking her Warren County Wildcats down US-522 for a non-district clash with Rappahannock County. I don't know if husband Greg (Front Royal Cardinals) will be in the gym or not but there will be plenty of solid VB being played. These are just a handful of area schools that will be at home tonight and would love to see some more fans cheering on their efforts!
