2008 Record 19-25 regular season / 1-2 Post Season (Tie 5TH in playoffs)

The Turks Nation played a huge role in our Summer long 2008 Around The Valley in 60 Days promotion! Let's start out with the 18 Turkloopsters that finished the trek and then you have to mix in Mrs. Teresa Wease. I don't know if it would be possible to have one lady that I didn't know coming into this project, have such a remarkable effect on the outcome.
Not only did the Turks capture the team Spirit competition but every time that I needed to hear some kind words at the end of a long day, Mrs. Turks was always there to cheer our effort forward. There was just one area that I let the Turks nation down. When I went through my team notes to prepare for this story I noticed a bad trend...
I visited Memorial Stadium on six nights that involved seven games and then I was with them on the road a total of 11 nights. 18 of their 47 games were played with me in the park but my Turks won/lost/rain record left a little to be desired.
The home games:
6/7- Turks lost to Haymarket 4-1
6/25-Turks lost to Luray 4-0
7/7- Turks couldn't play Fauquier due to rain
7/13- Turks couldn't play Covington due to long rain delay
7/21- Turks split a double header against Fauquier- Win 4-3/ Loss 2-6
7/26- Turks lost to New Market 3-1
With me in the park @ Memorial- 1win / 4 losses / 2 rain outs
On the road was even scarier for the Turks when I was around:
6/1- Lost 16-4 @ Waynesboro
6/5-Lost 8-1 @ Winchester
6/9-Lost3-1 @ Staunton
6/12- Lost 5-3 @ Luray
6/14- Another Rain Out @ New Market
6/16-WIN 6-5 @ New Market
7/10-Lost 6-1 @ Luray
7/19-Lost 4-1 @ Haymarket
7/25-Lost 5-3 @ Winchester
7/29-WIN 7-2 @ Luray (Playoffs)
7/31-Lost 4-3 @ Luray (Playoffs)
Road record with me in the crowd 2-8-1
Overall mark at games I attended 3-12-3
The Turks were 17-15 when I wasn't there to jinx their efforts.... But seriously, the way my family was treated each and every time by Bob & Teresa and their fans made the summer so much more memorable....
I don't know yet where the Turks will be playing in 2009 but I know that their die-hard fans will be there to cheer them on all season long....
Thanks for everything that was done by the Turks Nation on behalf of Around The Valley in 60 Days!
