Waynesboro Continues Win Streak
Written by GeneralsSignGuyMike (Michael Kerr)

What a night for debuts!

The only game of the night pitted the red hot Waynesboro Generals vs another red hot Woodstock River Bandits. The Generals won 10-4 and now are on 3 game winning streak and have won 7 of their last 8 and got revenge after losing to the River Bandits Friday winning here at Kate Collins Field.

Now with the debuts of the two new players. The leadoff batter was SS #4 Gabriel Saade from Duke and what a night the Blue Devil had. He walked in the 1st but then stole 2 bases and scored after Brandon Sizemore had a RBI double. Saade in the 3rd had a double then scored when once again Sizemore had another RBI double. He had a single in the 5th and a 3 run triple in the 6th that blew the game wide open from there and also had another single with a stolen base in the 8th. So u can say Gabriel Saade had a perfect debut going 4-4 with 4 hits, a triple,double,2 singles, 3 stolen bases and 2 runs scored. Way to go Saade!

Daniel Bradshaw from LSU made his pitching debut with the Generals and got the win going 3 1/3 innings, 6 K's, 3 R, 6 H, 2 BB. After the 1st two Bandits batters got on by bunts he struck out the next 3 batters in the 1st inning. Pete Vandenbout, Evan Depotter and Daniel Wiltz came in the following 5 2/3 innings only giving up a total of 1 run and 3 hits and striking out 6. The last game that the Generals played at Woodstock, Waynesboro didn't strike out 1 batter and tonight combined for 10 K's.

Saade, Sizemore and Grant Buckner tonight all had 3 RBI's. The Waynesboro Generals now improve to (17-6) and will go to Covington (13-9) to face the Lumberjacks and have a 3 game lead in the divison over the Lumberjacks. Woodstock (10-14) stayed in 4th place in the Northern division and will be at Harrisonburg Turks (8-15) tommorrow.

I will be getting my 10th stamp tommorrow in New Market to see Luray vs New Market matchup and will be recieving updates every inning from the Waynesboro vs Covington game. Only one more stamp after that to go with the Waynesboro vs Fauquier trip left on July 19th.

GO GENERALS!!
