Maddux : The Day After

My hero turned the clock of Father Time back 10 years yesterday with his 2-hit performance against Colorado. Sadly the game remained tied at 0-0 when Maddux left for a pinch hitter in the 8TH inning.

A two hitter at Coors Field was/is amazing but win #355 would of been nice! The Dodgers rebounded Monday night for a 8-2 victory at Pittsburgh. That gives Torre and Company 13 wins in 15 games. The two losses- the last two starts for Maddux in which the Dodgers scored exactly ZERO runs.

One night after the 0-0 contest two things happened:

1. Los Angles scored 8 runs on the road at Pittsburgh...
&
2. Colorado has already surrendered 11 runs to San Diego...

Once Again - Are You kidding me ? Just 2 more starts left in the regular season so at 7-12, Maddux's streak of double digit wins will come to an end...

Friday night on the West Coast (10:40 PM) at home against San Francisco...

Central High School - Coach Jerry Walters & The Falcons Family Tree- Pics 1ST

After spending a couple of hours with Mr. John Galle of the Shenandoah Valley Herald in Woodstock I made the two mile drive over to Central High School. The Lady Falcons were playing Broadway and one thing you can always count on at Central is the chance to visit with some folks that will make you feel right at home. Tonight was no different, except the opportunity to trade stories with none other than Valley Coaching Legend Jerry Walters. On our site Jerry is also known as Jeff''s Dad but for tonight we will call him Coach. Coach spent 34 years working the sidelines at Central until his retirement following the 2004-2005 campaign. While I have known Coach for a few years, it wasn't until Thursday night that I was able to spend what I would call one on one plus time.
