Luray Wranglers make it 7 straight with 9-6 win over visisting Winchester...

A nice week night crowd of over 400 showed up at Bulldog Field for the showdown between two of the three VBL teams that made the national rankings this season. Winchester already owned 2 early season wins over #15 Luray, including spoiling the Wrangler home opener.
Luray posted a 5 spot in the bottom of the second to take a big lead but the Royals answered with 1 in the 4TH, 2 in the 5TH and 3 more in the 6TH to move ahead 6-5. Travis Smink (3-0) started for the Wranglers and left after 5 innings with a lead but it didn't hold up. Luray stormed back ahead with 4 runs in the bottom of the 7TH to secure the victory. The door was closed by Andrew Salgueiro (U of South Florida) with his parents and Grandfather (Jose Espenosa) in town to see their son pitch. Salgueiro followed Kyle Cichy (Va Tech) to the mound after Smink departed.
Cichy earned the win and Salgueiro earned a few special hugs after the final outs!

Generals Sign Guy Mike checked in to let us know that Waynesboro defeated Harrisonburg by a final score of 9-4. The Turks led 4-0 early but the Generals strung together 9 UN-answered runs to keep their hot streak going. Waynesboro checked into the rankings at #11 in the same national poll!
Fauquier and New Market were knotted at 5-5 in the top of the seventh inning the last report I got out of Rebel Park. I will check the hot line later for more updates....
