Covington 10-3 winners over Fauquier in series opener

We knew this series would come down to just 1 thing- Covington's ability to steal bases and score runs in bunches vs. Fauquier's ability to shut teams down.
The answer to the question for game 1 came in the top of the sixth inning when Covington broke open a 3-2 pitchers duel and never looked back in winning the opener by a final score of 10-3. The Gators will now need to re-group and then make the LONG bus ride from Warrenton down to Covington with the hopes of dragging the Lumberjacks back to town with them for game 3 of the series which would be played on Thursday night.
