The Royals defeated Staunton 8-3 Wednesday night a Moxie Stadium to force game three Thursday at Bridgeforth field.
The Braves broke out early by scoring three in the first inning an home runs by Max Most and Blake Mcdade of Royals starter Taylor Hill. Hill settled down and gave up no runs on one hit thru the 5th to get the win. Chris Rigo pitched the last 4 innings allowing no runs on 3 hits while striking out 5.
The Royals were held hit less thru five innings by Braves starter Gerard Sokolis. The Royals broke thru in the 6th by scoring 4 runs on four hits. Aaron Dudley's bases loaded single was the big hit of the inning as all runners scored after a throwing error by the Braves. Dudley scored on Galbraiiths fly out to center.
The Royals came back and scored 4 in the 7th on five straight singles by Matias, Agreste, Townsend, Wiswall, and Dudley. Wiswall 2, Dudley, and Galbraith had RBIs in the inning.
The Royals host game 3 of 3 Thursday at 7:30 PM.
