Ken Hockin- Royals Web Master on their game vs. Staunton

The Royals lost 8-7 to the Staunton Braves in game 1 of their first round best two of three series.The Braves came to town with bats swinging as they scored seven runs in the first three innings of starter Billy Morrison. The Braves hit 2 home runs, 2 triples and scored six earned runs. The Royals mounted a comeback to tie the score. They scored 2 in the third on a home run by Tyler Townsend, two in the fourth on a walk to Dudley, double by Grant Simotes and a single by Chris Berset.
Aaron Dudley's home run in the sixth made it 7-5 and the Royals tied it 7-7 in the seventh on two walks and one error.
The Braves pulled the game out in the ninth on a walk, single and a delayed steal Berset's low throw to second allowed the winning run to score.
Josh Squartrito shut the Royals down in the ninth to get the win.
Game 2 will be Wednesday night down in Staunton...
