Harrisonburg and Haymarket look to clinch final playoff spots on Day #57
Harrisonburg and Haymarket have clinched at least a tie for the final two spots with 17 victories and both teams will look to seal the deal on Saturday night.
New Market and Woodstock each have 14 wins and three games remaining but both teams would have to sweep all 3 and have the Turks and Senators lose all three. The question that we
are looking to answer is this- if a tie exists between 1&2 or 8&9 will the VBL use a 1 game playoff versus a tie breaker in this case.
It is safe to assume that all other ties will be broken by head to head but one would think if it is 8 Vs. 9......
Who out there has the answer to this one?
Haymarket travels to the Bing on Saturday night to play the Front Royal Cardinals while New Market won't need to do any scoreboard watching as the Rebels play at Harrisonburg. Winchester (sweepers of a wacky 3 team double header Friday) travel to Central High School to face the Woodstock River Bandits...
The other 3 games:
Two of them have Luray playing at Fauquier in a twin bill beginning at 4:00 PM. Luray has clinched at least a tie for the Northern Division Crown as the Wranglers hold a 4 game lead over the Gators with 4 to play. A Luray victory in either game Saturday will give the North crown to Skipper Mike Bocock and his squad.
Staunton (23-19) travels to Covington (22-20) for a game with serious playoff implications. The Braves are currently 1 game up on the Lumberjacks in the battle for 5TH and 6TH place overall.
We will be down in Harrisonburg to celebrate with Teresa and her die hard fans (All 18 of them!)
Good Luck to All 10 teams playing ball later today... Waynesboro is the BYE team on Saturday.
