Time to play a serious game of Catch-up here on Night #51.- Posts from Austin, Melissa, Mike, Teresa, Kip and more!

It's 11:11 PM and Rebecca is back from her sisters so we will now sit down and put up around 10 posts that include new stuff from most of our friends of the promotion. Neat stuff from Mike(WB), Melissa (NM), Teresa (HB), Kip and Austin along with another ceremony and Sunday night gamers!

The final score just came by text from Kate Collins Field down in Waynesboro- New Market jumped out to an early 10-0 lead and held on to defeat Waynesboro by a final of 14-5. Mike will put together some notes once he gets home.

I spent the evening working the PA at Bulldog Field where the Luray Wranglers (27-10) defeated Haymarket by a final score of 13-9. Austin Markel (WVU) and Chris Rey (South Florida) hit solo home runs for the Wranglers to back the pitching of Andrew Armstrong (Ohio State). Luray opened a 13-4 lead before Haymarket rallied back to plate five runs in the top of the ninth inning.
David Herbek (JMU) hit a two run homer and then Chris Dubon (Lee) crushed a 3-run dinger to pull the visitors to within four at 13-9 but Luray held on for the victory. Jeff Jefferson (Liberty) collected 3 more hits for Luray as the Wranglers made it 18 wins in their last 22 contests after starting the season at 8-6. 18 of 22 plus the exhibition win over Vienna.
Luray finished the season series with Haymarket by winning three straight after the Senators took the opener. Senators right fielder Andrew Lawrence made a diving catch in the second inning with the bases full of Wranglers to keep the game scoreless.

Woodstock- Off

Winchester @ Front Royal- Winchester clinches the sixth playoff spot with a win at the Bing and the last update we had looked promising for the Royals. The report had Winchester leading 9-0 in the seventh inning. Assuming the Royals held on - Welcome to the 2008 VBL Playoffs!

Covington (21-16) @ Staunton (21-17)- The last report we had showed the home team (Braves) leading 8-2 in the eighth inning. The two teams were separated by 1/2 game in the South coming into the night and if Staunton held on they would trade places with the Lumberjacks. They did hold on to win by a final of 8-3.

Fauquier @ Harrisonburg- The Gators are slated to play back to back games at Memorial Stadium on Sunday and Monday. Fauquier has had zippo/nil/nada luck playing at the old ball yard due to weather and their luck continued tonight. As of 9:30 PM the two teams had been delayed for apx. 90 minutes due to a light problem in center field. Teresa Wease said they were still working on the lights and remained hopeful of playing baseball. 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM on Monday.

We already mentioned that New Market improved to 13-25 with their big win on the road over Waynesboro. We will update this post when more info is available!
