From opening tip until the final buzzer at the end of overtime, the crowd support for both schools was enough to make a sports junkie smile. Wilson won the game in Overtime after tying the score at the end of regulation with a 3-pointer from Mariah Taylor but I will let the good folks at http://www.newsvirginian.com/ and http://www.newsleader.co

A Productive Day in Waynesboro, Virginia !

Wednesday was National Signing Day for College Football Coaches all over the Country and Thursday proved to be an equally big Signing Day for Team Waynesboro . In case you missed it, Team Waynesboro is the group that will join forces to take the Waynesboro Generals of the VBL into the future. _____________________________________________ The group stands at an even dozen now that Chris Graham of the Augusta Free Press is on board with us. The number of skills that Chris brings to the table is matched only by his drive to move forward. Chris has made a name for himself in the Greater Augusta Area with the Free Press as well as the Sports Dominion and the magazine the New Dominion. _____________________________________________ Chris graduated from Wilson Memorial High School in Fishersville in 1990 and has spent most of his life in Augusta County. The efforts of Chris and his wife Crystal in the Waynesboro area make this a natural fit and we can't wait to get started! Welcome

An Anniversary Gift that Linda will never forget!

Linda and I will be celebrating our 24TH Wedding Anniversary this coming Monday and I can't wait to surprise her with a special gift. See, I just hung up the phone with Dave Biery of the Valley Baseball League and it turns out we had to place an order for our baseballs for the 2009 Season. ________________________________ Just how many baseballs could a team need? Yeah, try double the amount you were thinking. Don't forget to add the potential playoff games to the 22 game home schedule... ________________________________ If you can find a clever way to tie in the fact that the company we order the baseballs from is Diamond, get back to me quick. I will be busy trying to find some foul ball sponsors! ________________________________ Just over 4 months until Opening Night! ________________________________

Things are getting interesting Atop the Northwestern District (Girls)

One of the Districts that have a more difficult time compiling their standings is the Northwestern District. The NWern is spread out over Fredrick (4), Warren (2), Fauquier (Kettle Run), Shenandoah (Central) and Prince ( Brentsville ) Counties. The amount of space covered and the number of media outlets involved make it a bit more difficult to gather info. With that said, Lets take a look at the top of the District as the Girls head in to the final week of the regular season: Millbrook 14-0 The Pioneers have clinched the regular season crown and top-seed in the tourney. After that : W-L .........GB _______________________ Brentsville 9-5.......... - James Wood 9-6.......... 1/2 John Handley 8-5 ..........1/2 Sherando 8-6 .............1 Skyline 7-7 .............2 Central 7-7 ............2 Quite a chase heading down the stretch. Central just made it a bit more interesting with recent upsets of James Wood & Sherando .
