Waynesboro Defeats the Cards, Now Won 6 of Last 7 Written by: GeneralsSignGuyMike (Michael Kerr) Here is the recap of the game from Bing Crosby Stadium between the Waynesboro Generals and Front Royal Cardinals. The Generals defeat the Cardinals 7-2 after coming off a loss to Woodstock last night and now they have won 6 out of their last 7, the Cardinals now have lost 8 of their last 9. Waynesboro got off to a hot start after Brandon Sizemore and Evan Webb got back to back doubles in the 1st. In the 2nd inning after Austin Morgan lead off with a double, Derek Hamblen and Greg Meleski walked and then Brandon Sizemore once again got a hit bringing in 2 with a 2 RBI single. Front Royal starter Thomas Gray did pitch well after that until the 6th when Gray gave up a hit to Morgan and then Derek Hamblen had a RBI double. In the 7th Evan Webb had a solo HR and in the 8th Hamblen had another RBI double and then Morgan scored after a wild pitch was thrown by the Cardinals relief p...

Day 14- The first day we didn't HAVE to go to a ball park- so we went to 5 of them!

We here at ATV-60 are not afraid of Friday the 13 Th so we set out to try and do something extra fun. The morning started with a 3:00 a.m. trip up to Dulles (Airport) to drop off Mr. Pat Kelly. Pat has been staying with us this week while visiting his son Clay (Wranglers). Pat was insistent on giving me something for my time and trouble so I went in search of an adventure for the night. After doing 11 in 11 and then having back to back home games working the PA at Bulldog Field, it was going to be night 14 and my/our first night without any scheduled requirements. So I put my thinking cap on and came up with this idea: FRIDAY THE 13TH- ATV-60 STYLE SPONSORED BY: MR. & MRS. PAT KELLY 6:14 PM- Linda, Diamond, Rebecca and I loaded up the Mercury (43,357.2/303.1)) and headed out of Luray . The first stop in town was work related but the second stop was @ Bulldog Field. The Wranglers were on the road so it was a different look at our park and included shots of all the cars the players...

Another great night at the ball park ! June 12,2008

Plenty of cool things to report in the ATV-60 wrap- up for Thursday June 12,2008. Lets start out by sharing the great news that John Leonard posted earlier on his sight (All Things Valley League) about the feature story from the Daily News Record. Teresa posted it to the Turks home page pretty quick and it is a great read about the hard work our friend does every day for the love of the game! Rebecca and I were down at Bulldog Field for the tilt between Harrisonburg and Luray . Before the game started I was able to help coordinate a five minute celebration of the season just completed by the LHS Bulldogs (26-2). The crowd was great and thanks to some help from both Luray skipper Mike Bocock and majority owner Bill Turner the tribute went off without a hitch. I thanked Bob Wease over the PA for allowing the first pitch to be delayed for five minutes while I introduced the players one by one. By my count we had 19 of the 21 total players/coaches and staff! Rebecca took some pictu...

Checking in @ 11:35 p.m.- After Park #8 (H'Burg)

Only have 20 minutes before I head out to deliver the Sunday Post but I wanted to check in with a few notes.... Tonight we watched Harrisonbug drop a 4-1 contest to visiting Haymarket . I know Luray won at home 6-3 over Front Royal and that New Market was off. I know New Market was off after running into the NM skipper (Nolan) who was at the game to watch his little brother play for the Senators. I hope Mike will check in at tell us about Waynesboro and after the final paper is delivered I will jump back on and try to get caught up with everything. 9 of the 12 boxes have been stamped with Haymarket (Sun.), Staunton (Mon) and Luray , where the journey ends on Tuesday evening. Great stories to share and I am looking forward to sharing them later today!

I might need a Top 15 Tonight! Fun, Fun, Fun

I don't want to short change Front Royal and the "Bing" out of their top 10 list so with all the exciting action happening at the HIGH SCHOOL level I might push it out to 15. We started the night out by catching the warm-ups and 1st inning of the BIG GAME in Luray . The home town Bulldogs were hosting Lancaster for the right to go to Radford and compete in the Final Four. Rebecca got plenty of shots of the team and the great crowd getting ready and some of LHS Ace Richard Galindez pitching the first inning. Bill Meade was there to cover the game for the Page News and Courier and the town folks will get to read about it the next day instead of having to wait a while! Galindez pitched the first inning like he knew I was in a hurry. It took the senior about three minutes to face Joseph Betts (Strike Out), Adam Benson (Strike Out) and then get Luke Saunders to send a fly ball to the fastest athlete I have seen play high school ball in a while- Johnny VanWyck . VanWy...

Again, the story will come later with dad but for now here are (a lot!) of pictures of our adventures at Bing Cosby Stadium in Front Royal, VA. The view from the visitor's section. Dad and Dennis Grundman. Front Royal's greatest fan!
