Chalk the Delay on this one up to the Pony Express! The Goal this season was to roll out a New Segment called "Through the Catchers Mask" with Gator and Friends. We never quite perfected it but here's the Transcript from Opening Day

Opening Day Recap - executed perfectly by Gator !   The opening game was against IU-South Bend and I was back behind the Dish catching Mathew Gainer and he was LOCKED in. He was throwing really well from the start and then Issac came in and shut it down for him. We won it on a combined 1-0 shutout.   Gainer hadn't thrown since last summer and he was really excited to get back on the bump to give us our best shot to win. The Umpire was loving the way he was throwing and might have expanded the strike zone just a bit for us. He was living on the Corners, throwing to his spots and then Issac came in for the first time in years which was in part due to Covid.   He was fired up being back out there on the Bump. It was electrifying - he came in and we might have thrown one slider. Everything else was Sinker, Fastball, Cutter and Curve. It was all hard and moving in a different direction.    Those guys had No Shot, Issac just shut the game down. It was a very beautifully combi

Carter set to retire after 15 years of Running with the Golden Bears 🐻. Focus is on how Bright the Future of the Program looks going forward!

Jerry Carter has been a part of the West Virginia Tech University Golden Bears 🐻 Baseball ⚾️ program for as long as Lawrence Nesselrodt has been the Skipper of the team. There will be a change in the lineup card after this season draws to its conclusion as Carter will officially step down from his position in the program.   " Lawrence Nesselrodt has always been about two things," Carter said. " You simply have to give the Game of Baseball the respect that it deserves and Always leave a place better than you found it."     During the 15 year run together the program has changed Conferences, Athletic Directors, home Stadiums and even Campus locations - going from Montgomery to Beckley a few years back. Each step along the journey has been a step in the right direction for the Golden Bears, including the move that placed West Virginia Tech under the Umbrella of West Virginia University.     "We have come such a long way from that first game we p

12 Games remain on the Golden Bears 🐻 slate during the Final 3 weeks of the regular season.

Three more Weekend Series and Three more mid-week games are left to be played on the 49 game schedule. Finishing up 9-3 over the final three weeks would accomplish two Major Goals for the team - Finishing up with a winning record and qualifying for the Post Season Conference tournament.    West Virginia Tech University will start the Home Stretch tomorrow afternoon in Charleston when they host Kentucky Christian ✝️. Earlier this year the Golden Bears 🐻 exploded for 21 runs on the road at KCU in earning the non-conference victory.       In addition to KCU the Golden Bears 🐻 will host Shawnee State and play at Bluefield University in their Tuesday games. The three weekend series are vs Indiana Southeast, at R-Grande and then at home with Ohio Christian ✝️.      For the team to get to compete in May they must wrap up the season with a strong 💪 finish. Tech currently sits inside of the playoff bubble by half a game setting up a tremendous finish to the regular season.

Busy stretch for the Golden Bears 🐻 starts tomorrow with a visit from Kentucky Christian ✝️. Four games in five days awaiting WVU-T
