Extra Time - Memories of ATV

Image
Rebecca Carter here. I was sitting outside the Sheetz in Mount Jackson, waiting for the papers to arrive after our exciting game at Woodstock and I had some time to think. I took the time to think about the letter that got assigned to each team for the passport and came up with a couple of things for each team... first up, a list of people who really made us feel welcome or that just generally And next, different aspects of each team or of each experience that I remember most. Enjoy!

Spending a Saturday Night with a special Lady and the some kind folks!

We tried to match stories and pictures up from the games as they happened and we were running pretty close but with the LHS State Championship Trip last Friday I fell behind. We always made sure that Rebecca posted the pictures as soon as she could and I kept writing away in hopes of keeping up. The Winchester visit started the slow down because of the warmth of the feeling we left the park with (no-not the heat) after hanging out with Brian and company. The next two stops came at places where Mr. (Bruce Alger) and Mrs. (Teresa Wease ) Around The Valley in 60 Days run their ball clubs. I knew going into the promotion that Bruce was special but the efforts from Teresa really have been amazing. Now lets jump forward to it being Sunday night and our trip to Haymarket . I judge myself and our efforts on a pretty tough scale and Haymarket was the one team that I felt I had been a big supporter of but I came up short in my efforts to really be able to make a difference for the team up the...

Now for the rest of the story: Haymarket

All the stores have been collected so I will try and finish out the top5 from our visit up to Haymarket / Sunday night! #5.- This one actually happened after we got back home. I found a message/posting left by Bobby McGrath III. We had met Bobby for the first time the other night in Winchester and it took a couple of days to finish the story. We have come to expect that we had friends coming in and that carried over to others. But when you meet people for the first time you are not always sure how much they will think about the conversation after the end of the night. Bobby had followed up on our visit and took the time to share his thoughts on the evening in Winchester. This means a lot to me (even more so that he liked the recap), because this day and age where everyone is so busy, what impressed me the most was Bobby taking the time to check back in. Thanks again! #4.- Catfish Lewie's and the Senators- I grew up in a world where bartering came second nature. Now that the econo...

Hay! Hay what? Hay-MARKET!

Here are some pictures of our trip to Haymarket. I got the privilege once more of riding with Mrs. Debbie, Mr. Bocock and the whole Wrangler family up to the field. I love those guys (and I would like to put on the record that I meant no harm in wearing that New Market jersey to the Battle of the Mountain - I love both teams). I have to admit that there are a lot of Luray pictures mixed in here because the player we're hosting (Clay Kelly, number 26) got in yesterday and it was his first game. Exciting!
