Rebecca Carter here. I was sitting outside the Sheetz in Mount Jackson, waiting for the papers to arrive after our exciting game at Woodstock and I had some time to think. I took the time to think about the letter that got assigned to each team for the passport and came up with a couple of things for each team... first up, a list of people who really made us feel welcome or that just generally And next, different aspects of each team or of each experience that I remember most. Enjoy!

Today Rebecca and I start cross the half way point of our adventure ! After we visit the Winchester Royals it will be 6 Down & 5 to go. We headed out at 5:11 p.m. for the 51.1 mile drive from our house in Luray . The start of the trip was delayed by 2 minutes while Rebecca ran back in for the two hats we needed. Each night one of us wears the hat of the home team and the other wears the visiting teams cap. The first stop on the journey was at the Bentonville Foodway Supermarket (15.5 miles) and what we found makes the Top Ten in the #10 spot. The only reason it is at #10 is because it is the third straight day Kip made the list. ___________________________________________________________________ #10- We stopped in B'Ville because that was the closest store on the way to Winchester that I knew would have a copy of this week's Warren Sentinel . I don't want to short change Front Royal and the "Bing" out of their top 10 list so with all the exciting action happening at the HIGH SCHOOL level I might push it out to 15. We started the night out by catching the warm-ups and 1st inning of the BIG GAME in Luray . The home town Bulldogs were hosting Lancaster for the right to go to Radford and compete in the Final Four. Rebecca got plenty of shots of the team and the great crowd getting ready and some of LHS Ace Richard Galindez pitching the first inning. Bill Meade was there to cover the game for the Page News and Courier and the town folks will get to read about it the next day instead of having to wait a while! Galindez pitched the first inning like he knew I was in a hurry. It took the senior about three minutes to face Joseph Betts (Strike Out), Adam Benson (Strike Out) and then get Luke Saunders to send a fly ball to the fastest athlete I have seen play high school ball in a while- Johnny VanWyck . Tuesday night I will be joining Donna Settle, Greg Brill and company in Front Royal as Around The Valley makes stop #4 of 11. Four is the number of the night as four area teams will do battle on four diamonds with the hopes of advancing to the Final Four. ____________________________________________________________________ Class- A Lets start in Luray , where the host Bulldogs (25-1) welcome Lancaster (16-7) into town. Luray defeated Strasburg in the Region B championship last Friday which gave Coach Steve Griffith and his nine the right to play at Bulldog Field. Griffith has been kind enough to call me a couple of times but we have yet to visit. The season the Bulldogs are having is history in the making and if Ace lefty Richard Galindez has his good stuff it could continue down to Radford for a Friday semi-final.
