A Final Update on Class A, AA & AAA State Baseball Champs
Class A - J.J Kelly advanced to the finals with a victory over Luray and then went on to capture yet another State Title with a 14-9 victory over Essex on Saturday 6/7/08. We still have some fun things left where the Bulldogs are concerned once we have all of the bio info back to us.
Class AA- Waynesboro also fell in the semi-final round to the eventual State Champ. The Little Giants were defeated by Powhatan on Friday and then Alleghany(Covington) was the opponent in the finals. Alleghany(25-2) dropped a hard fought 7-4 contest on Saturday in the finals.
Class AAA- James River went on to capture the AAA crown with a 10-0 victory over Colonial Forge in the finals...
Luray, Waynesboro and Alleghany all made it into State play and then moved on to the Final Four! A great spring for the high schools of the Valley

The Page County Lady Panthers dropped a 12 inning heart breaker to visitng Gretna back in the round of 16. Gretna then went on to record 5-4,3-0 & 2-0 wins to capture the Class A title.
Both of the County schools here lost to the team that won the Class A Championship.
