Greg Maddux : Perfect Game Heading Into 5TH / Finishes with another No- Decision

Los Angles...000...000...000...0-0/8/0
Colorado...... 000...000...000...1-1/6/0

1 Out when winning run scored...

It is Sunday afternoon and Greg Maddux is back on the hill for Joe Torre and the Los Angles Dodgers. L.A has won all four games they have played since Maddux was on the losing in of a 4-0 contest at San Diego. Their lead is up to 4 & 1/2 games over the D-Backs as they take the field at Colorado.

The game (3:59 PM) has went into the bottom of the fifth inning and Maddux has faced just 12 batters so far. Greg carries a perfect game but sadly doesn't have a lead as the game is 0-0. L.A has managed five singles but Cook has done a nice job of pitching around them...

The bottom of the fifth has now come and gone with Colorado picking up their first base hit on a single to left field. The score is 0-0 heading into the top of the 6TH and Maddux has thrown just 40 pitches. Now we just need a little offense from Man-Ram and company!

As we head to the bottom of the 6TH tied 0-0 I can report that I noticed on the muted TV that Jim Zorn and his Washington Redskins scored two late TD's to give the new head coach a 29-24 come from behind victory over the visiting New Orleans Saints. Congrats to Zorn & Company!

(4:24 PM) 52 pitches thrown after 6 innings and Maddux still has a 1-hitter going. The bad news is the score is still 0-0 with L.A. at bat in the top of the seventh inning.

(4:43 PM)- 68 Pitches and a second hit (infield single) allowed but we are now heading to the top of the 8TH inning still tied 0-0...

Torre has pulled Maddux for a pinch hitter in the top of the eighth inning and while the Dodgers have picked up their seventh and eighth hits of the game, Cook has just retired the side to send the game into the bottom of the eighth at 0-0. Maddux will finish the afternoon with 7.0 innings, 2 hits, 0 walks and 0 runs allowed. Add 3 K's to his total but the one thing that will not increase is his Win total (354) as Maddux will end the day with a NO-Decision.

For his second straight start with the Dodgers the L.A. nine has managed 0 runs in support of Maddux but there is still hope they will score in the ninth...The game (4:57 PM) heads to the ninth still deadlocked at 0-0...

Colorado scores in the bottom of the 10TH inning for a hard fought 1-0 victory...
