NCAA Football : 14 Football Games Around the Old Dominion

LURAY - 14 College footballs games are being played that involve a team from our great state!

Let us take a look Around The Old Dominion:

Last week UVA (2-3) played a near perfect game at home in destroying Maryland 31-0 and the Cavs would need another such effort for Al Groh and his team to reach .500.

Kickoff set for Noon but the offense didn't get started until about 12:45 but the good news for Hoos fans is that the "D" held East Carolina (3-2) to a pair of Field Goals. Trailing 6-0 with the clock ticking down to 0:00, Cedric Peerman scooted right and ran 80 yards down the side line to put UVA ahead 7-6.

Peerman was back at it early in the second quarter following a 1 yard punt by ECU. Peerman went to his left and remained UN-touched for 60 yards. Two plays in a matter of minutes and the game turned in the favor of the home team. The next drive would be more conventional as the Cavs needed 6 plays to score another touchdown.

1:14 P.M. - Mikell Simpson scoots in from 5 yards out to make it 21 straight points for the Cavs!

1:26 P.M. - One play after converting a 4TH and 3, UVA put a fourth TD on the board with a 30 yard pass play from Marc Verica to Kevin Ogletree.

Cavs "D" forces a 5TH straight Pirates punt and will try to add to their lead with a 2-minute drill.

1:37 PM - Virginia misses a 38 yard field goal just before the half but take a 28-6 lead in to the locker room!
