Strasburg Volleyball - Full Steam Ahead

The Strasburg High School Rams have been keeping busy since our last visit with Head Coach Suzanne Mathias last week when they traveled down to Madison County (Thur 9/25).

Two days later the Rams had a special type of day/night double header. Bridgewater College played an 11:00 AM match at Nininger Hall against ODAC foe Washington & Lee and Mathias woke the current team up early so they could make the 60 mile drive down to BC. Katie Baker is playing her Freshman season of volleyball for the Lady Eagles and the Coach had picked out the day for the 2008-2009 Rams to cheer on one of the seven seniors from the 2007-2008 State Championship team.

The Rams were treated to an exciting 5 game match that lasted 2 hours with the visitors from W & L eventually claiming the match. I believe that the next stop was a visit to CiCi's for lunch with the Baker's before returning to Strasburg for their non-district match with the Luray Bulldogs. Strasburg showed no signs of wear and tear from the long day as they completed a 3-0 sweep over the improving Bulldogs.

Strasburg returned to Bull Run District play on Tuesday with their third straight win to open BRD play, this time sweeping the Mustangs from George Mason. Two days later they made the trip to Manassas Park and returned home with another 3-0 victory.

The record is now 12-2 overall and 4-0 in the BRD and this week they return to our part of the Valley for a showdown with Rappanhannock County on Tuesday night. One more chance to check in with Suzanne and company as they face off with the Panthers...

If you are in the area and want to see some entertaining Class A Volleyball join us at the gym on Tuesday night...
